Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Shri Nitin Gadkari will be inaugurating the 39th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, which is scheduled to run from 14th-27th November 2019. The theme for this year’s programme is ‘Ease of Doing Business’, which is inspired from India’s recent achievement in World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index, from 142 in 2014 to 63rd at present.
The India International Trade Fair demonstrates India’s continues for socio-economic empowerment and industrialization coupled with its emergence as the one of the mostly rapidly growing and dominant economy. The annual event has provided a unique platform for large corporations, MSMEs, NGOs, artisans and Self-help Groups (SHG) to showcase their entrepreneurship skills and garner potential customers for their products and services.
It also serves as an able platform for different Central and State Government departments and agencies for dissemination of information on various government schemes and initiatives, progressive reforms and social benefits.
The two-week long programme will also witness representatives from various countries including Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Britain, China, Egypt, Hong-Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey and Vietnam who will make their presence felt at the event.
The Status of ‘Partner Country’ this year has been accorded to Afghanistan whereas South Korea will be the ‘Focus Country’. Bihar and Jharkhand are selected as the ‘Focus States’ for the event.
