Athlete Hima Das named UNICEF India’s first youth ambassador
Young sprint sensation Hima Das, who won three decorations, incorporating gold in women’s 4x400m relay at the Asian Games and a memorable gold award at the U-20 World Championship in Finland, has been selected Youth Ambassador by UNICEF for India.
“My good example was Sachin Tendulkar as a child. I feel extremely pleased that I have possessed the capacity to pursue his strides and turn into a UNICEF Ambassador like him. I need for each kid, paying little heed to their experience, financial ability, gender, rank and so forth to have the capacity to get to schools that are protected and become strong with the goal that they can learn and flourish,” Hima said.
In her job as a Youth Ambassador, Hima will progress in the direction of bringing issues to light about the rights and needs of kids. She will help intensify the voices of kids and youngsters as dynamic members in basic leadership, in this manner adding to their all-encompassing improvement.
“Youngsters are powerful heroes for the issues which affect them most. Hima is a youthful competitor, and she can move a huge number of youngsters to understand their fantasies and yearnings. By delegating her as our first Youth Ambassador, we intend to use her potential in affecting youngsters and teenagers to achieve positive change,” said Laura Siegrist Fouche, an agent of UNICEF India.
